We had a lovely week in Three Pound Cottage and can only agree with all the other positive reviews. From the moment we walked through the front door to the day that we sadly set off on our journey home, we had a relaxing and enjoyable time. The owners appear to have thought of everything, making this a home-from-home experience. We visited Lustleigh to have a walking break and, from the village, there is huge variety of routes to follow. There's even a folder of suggested walks for you in the cottage. With a pub that serves good meals and a village shop that's amply stocked, it's possible to have a busy week without getting into your car. That's a wonderful prospect for those that live hectic lives! You won't even be bothered by calls on your mobile, unless you go and stand on the steps of the village church. You won't be completely out of touch as the cottage has wi-fi and there's a landline for emergencies. As I said, the owners seem to have thought of everything.
Dear Jan and Alan
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that you had a wonderful stay and that you found everything you needed in the cottage 🙂
You are absolutely right, there's so much of interest close by that you dont really need the car other than to get you to Lustleigh in the first place.
We do hope to welcome you back again soon

Had a fantastic holiday in Three Pound Cottage. We were there during the week of June when the temperature reached 30 degrees, but the cottage stayed wonderfully cool. The location is perfect, in the beautiful village of Lustleigh. From the cottage it is a very short walk to a great pub and a well supplied village shop. Also you can step out of the cottage and access some lovely walks without even getting into the car.The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. On our last night we attended a brilliant performance of a Midsummer Night's Dream in the Orchard, put on by Kennford Productions. A perfect ending to a perfect holiday. We hope to return in the future.

Fantastic cottage- beautifully renovated to be very comfortable but still retain all its charm. Everything worked. The pub was a few doors away, the local village shop across the green. The village is picture perfect rural England. After 5 days I wanted to buy the cottage and settle in Lustleigh indefinitely. Will have to satisfy myself with a return visit soon.....
Dear Cath and Dan
We are delighted you had such an enjoyable stay in Lustleigh. Brian and I felt exactly the same when we encountered this special place and love the fact that we can share it with our guests. In fact one of our guests loved it so much they did in fact return and have since made Lustleigh their permanent home. Never say never 🙂
We will look forward to welcoming you back to Three Pound Cottage in the not too distant future,

We couldn't have asked for any more the cottage was delightful set in a stunning village. It was a perfect setting for our family Christmas. The cottage had been renovated to a high standard keeping lots of original features with a lovely modern twist. The well equipped kitchen and large living area served us very well providing everything we needed to host our family Christmas. The only thing that would have helped would be a larger dinning table. We had a lovely relaxing week and loved the village. Everybody was very friendly and made us most welcome. We enjoyed the carols on Christmas Eve feeling part of the community. I would not hesitate to stay again.
Dear Bilinda and family - we are truly thrilled that you all had such a lovely Christmas at the cottage and that the locals made you very welcome 🙂 . It would be lovely to welcome you all back again some time in the future. All the very best

Beautifully renovated cottage in a lovely village. Couldn't be better really, the cottage is in a great location - tucked away in a quiet corner of the village but still only a few steps from the shop and very fine pub. Dartmoor is stunning and you have thought of everything, thank you so much.

Our second stay in Lustleigh but this time at 3 Pound cottage. We were welcomed by Jean the housekeeper who left the cottage spotless. The cottage has been renovated to a wonderful standard and is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely kitchen with everything you need, large living room and dinig area. Two large bedrooms and one small. Downstairs shower room and large family bathroom.Lustleigh itself is stunning with lots of walks and the Cleave pub which serves fantastic meals plus fish and chips from the van on Thursday night. We walked one of the routes in the book, 7.5 miles via Manaton but it was not easy as stated. Got lost and ended up doing 10 miles! But it was stunning scenerey. We also went to kingswear on the steam train from Paignton and then on the ferry to Dartmouth. A favourite with us and lunch at the Cherub. We drove to Dartington Crystal and then walked to Totnes for lunch. Walking up to Haytor and then onto Parke lovely national trust property with lots of walking routes and serving afternoon tea.We also went to Drago Castle but not for the faint hearted the roads are scary! Lots of close encounters with the Dartmoor ponies which was wonderful.Only small negative is no tv especially when we had one day of heavy rain. There is netfix but no tv signal. No phone coverage in the village but we managed to get s signal on the top of the moors but no phone was actually a blessing.Would we go again 110% yes, loved it. Perfect setting, stunning cottage, great housekeeper such as blast, fantastic pub and great places to visit or just relax, plenty for everyone. Cant wait to go back.Big thank Michaela!Kirstie and James x
Hi Kirstie and James
Thank you for such a wonderful review - we're delighted you had an amazing stay and look forward to welcoming you back again.
Thank you also for bringing the TV reception to our attention. We understand the problem is due to the height that the trees have reached in the neighbouring woods and are currently trying to resolve this with the Woodland Trust. Hopefully the smart TVs with Netflix and all the Catch Up channels kept boredom at bay :-).
We loved hearing of your adventures and are glad you took the opportunity to explore further afield, sounds like you had a busy week!
We appreciate that mobile phone coverage is challenging whilst in the National Park. Hopefully the house phone helped you stay in touch - but like you, we too enjoy the peace and quiet.
Thanks again for your very kind review and look forward to welcoming you back soon...

We stayed for a week and didn't leave the village except for long walks in the country. The village shop has all essentials and food at the pub was very good. The nearby Kelly mine (see website) is an excellent place to visit and a short walk from the cottage. It is difficult to add to all the previous compliments in reviews. The cottage is beautiful outside and has been renovated very well inside, preserving the historic character and quirkiness. We had hot weather and the cottage was pleasingly cool in the day but comfortably warm at other times. The interior is attractive with comfortable furnishings and had everything we needed. Alliances and equipment in the kitchen were very good. It is a very good place to stay.
Dear Richard, thank you so much for your lovely review, it is very much appreciated.
We are thrilled that you had lovely weather and took the opportunity to explore the village and surrounding countryside.

Beautiful home in such a special village. The local walks are amazing and we were so lucky with the weather in May. Everyday was 23c with sun and we had such a great time. We spent a lot of time on local walks and also went to Lydford Gorge which was stunning! We will certainly be going back next year! 10/10
Hi Rich and family, thank you so much for finding the time to write a review - we're thrilled you all enjoyed your stay at Three Pound Cottage. We'll have to add Lydford Gorge to our 'things to do' page 🙂 . Looking forward to welcoming you back soon, all the best Michaela and Brian x
A beautiful cottage and a magical place. We stayed for a week and it was just the peaceful relaxing break we needed. The cottage is very well presented, clean and comfortable. Plenty of in-house entertainment and lots to do locally. We are big walkers and did not even have to consult a guide book as the host had a comprehensive selection of printed guided walks that we followed on several occasions, giving us stunning views of the local area. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The surprise Devonshire cream tea hamper on arrival was an added luxury bonus!!
Hi Abbie - thank you so much for your lovely review, it's much appreciated :-). We are thrilled that you enjoyed a relaxing stay at Three Pound Cottage and was able to make good use of the guided walks. We would love to welcome you back again some time, all the very best Michaela and Brian x
